AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Augusta County Public Schools (ACPS) announced the appointment of Jennifer Diggs as Principal of Stewart Middle School effective July 1, 2026.
According to ACPS officials, for the past four years, Mrs. Diggs has served as an Assistant Principal for Staunton City Schools. During the 2021-22 school year, she was the Director of Great Oak Academy in Harrisonburg, VA.
Before becoming an administrator, Mrs. Diggs served as a Middle and High School English Teacher. Throughout her teaching experiences, she reportedly provided departmental leadership, AVID coordination, and was very involved in curriculum development at the division level. She has also served as an adjunct instructor at the collegiate level, summer school administrator, and completed administrative internships at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
A graduate of James Madison High School in Vienna, VA, Mrs. Diggs earned a Bachelor’s degree in Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication from James Madison University, a Master’s degree in English Literature from Longwood University, and an Educational Leadership Certificate from James Madison University. During her teaching career, she instructed students across a wide age range – from 6th through 12th grade.
“Mrs. Diggs is a dynamic educator who comes to ACPS with an exceptional work ethic and considerable teaching and administrative experiences. She is a strong instructional leader who collaborates with teachers to facilitate student growth and achievement. She greatly values the community culture and beliefs of Stewart Middle School, which served as the basis for her interest in the position. I know that our Stewart families will appreciate her commitment to continuing the strong partnerships and collaboration that are already in place with them, their students, and community members. We look forward to her leadership,” says Dr. Kelly Troxell, Division Superintendent.
