STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Staunton man charged following an armed standoff more than a year ago has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Timothy Lee Howdyshell entered his plea of not guilty Monday morning during an arraignment hearing Augusta County Circuit Court.

Howdyshell faces a felony charge of unlawful shooting into an occupied building after deputies were called to his house on Thomas Drive in the Lyndhurst area back on April 16th of last year.

After an initial standoff, Howdyshell surrendered to the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team without incident.

The 44-year-old Howdyshell will be back in court on June 23rd for the start of his two-day trial.
