WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) – A weekend event in Waynesboro will shut down North Wayne Avenue for most of the day.

The Waynesboro Police Department has announced the road will be closed from West Main Street to West Broad Street this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The closure is meant to accommodate the third annual Hiker Fest event that will feature music, vendors, and trail-focused programming.

Authorities encourage drivers to follow posted signage and detour information in the area or use alternate routes that avoid North Wayne Avenue altogether during the hours of the event.
