HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — A section of Court Square in Harrisonburg will be closed for several weeks beginning on Monday.
Harrisonburg Public Works says a waterline replacement project will require closure of Court Square between Graham Street and West Market Street. Drivers will still be able to turn left from Main Street onto Court Square and continue onto Graham Street, and will be able to turn right from West Market Street onto Court Square, during this phase of the project. But they will not be able to travel along the section between Graham Street and West Market Street. Sidewalks will remain open.
As work continues in the coming weeks and crews reach the area around Graham Street, the northern section of Court Square will close between Main Street and West Market Street. Notices about this closure will be posted to the City’s social media pages when that information is available.
The entire project is estimated to take approximately six weeks. Crews anticipate being able to reopen the roadway on weekends, but closures will be in place Monday-Friday throughout the day.
