AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

Police say at around 4:10pm a 2024 Chevrolet 3500 was traveling along Little Calf Pasture Highway when it crossed over a double solid centerline, veered to the left, ran off the roadway, and struck a tree.

The driver, Larry W. Melton, 67, of Millboro, died at the scene. Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.

This crash remains under investigation.
