ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday at approximately 8:30 p.m. in Rockingham County. 

Police say a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and a John Deere log skidder were both travelling northbound on Route 42 when the Elantra rearended the skidder.

The driver of the Elantra suffered serious injuries and succumbed to those injuries before the driver arrived at the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
