HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg State Senator Mark Obenshain has been appointed by the Senate Rules Committee to serve on the Joint Legislative and Audit Review Commission (JLARC).

“I appreciate the opportunity to serve on JLARC. The Commission serves the role of ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and that government programs and agencies are effective and accountable to the taxpayers in Virginia. I look forward to this opportunity to improve efficiency and accountability of government in the Commonwealth of Virginia,” Senator Obenshain said in a statement.

The Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (JLARC) conducts program evaluation, policy analysis, and oversight of state agencies on behalf of the Virginia General Assembly.
