HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Multi Award-winning journalist Jim Acosta has been named as the keynote speaker of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Democratic Committee’s Annual Labor Day Celebration Dinner.

Acosta will join Democratic Sixth District Congressional candidate Beth Macy and US Senator Mark Warner for the event.

Acosta, a former CNN senior White House correspondent, is a James Madison University graduate and has received the Ronald Carrier Distinguished Alumni Award, which is the JMU Alumni Association’s highest honor.

The event is at 6:00 PM Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Hotel Madison Shenandoah Grand Ballroom.
