HARRISONBURG, Va. (JMU Athletics) – Coming off its second consecutive NCAA Championship appearance, James Madison women’s soccer has revealed its 2025 schedule, as announced by head coach Joshua Walters Sr. on Wednesday morning.
“I am excited about this 2025 schedule.” Walters said. “We have lofty goals for our program and look to create multiple pathways into the NCAA tournament. Knowing these are the types of teams we play every year in the non-conference attracts the kind of player that wants that challenge. Our players left this spring with a drive that I love as a coach, and with this schedule I know they will work hard in the offseason to be ready.”
JMU will be playing an 18-match slate with half of the matches taking place at Sentara Park.
The Dukes will kick off the season on the road for the second season in a row as they travel to Raleigh to face NC State on Aug. 14 before opening their home slate on Aug. 17 against Liberty. JMU will then play three of its next four games on the road to finish out the month, traveling to Georgetown (Aug. 21), George Mason (Aug. 24) and Penn State (Aug. 31). Former CAA foe William & Mary will represent the lone home match in the four-game span, as JMU will host the Tribe on Aug. 28.
JMU begins September with its final non-conference matches as part of the Fairfield by Marriott Invitational, welcoming Maryland on Sept. 4 and the reigning national champions, North Carolina, on Sept. 7.
The Dukes begin Sun Belt Conference play at home, welcoming Coastal Carolina to Sentara Park on Sept. 13. JMU will also host Georgia Southern (Sept. 21), Marshall (Oct. 2), Louisiana (Oct. 10), and South Alabama (Oct. 17) in Harrisonburg.
Following the conference opener, the Dukes will make the trip to Norfolk to face Old Dominion on Sept. 18. The remaining road league matches for the Dukes feature Troy (Sept. 27), App State (Oct. 5), Georgia State (Oct. 24), and Texas State (Oct. 29).
For the 10th consecutive season, the Sun Belt Championship will be held at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala. The quarterfinals are scheduled for Nov. 3, followed by the semifinals on Nov. 5 and the championship on Nov. 9.
