HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement took over 1,300 criminals illegally in the states of Virginia and Maryland into custody, including one arrest in the City of Harrisonburg.
According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Estrella Reyes-Funez from Honduras was arrested by ICE officers this month in Harrisonburg during a two-week immigration operation between August 1st through the 14th entitled “Operation Safe Community: Washington D-C.”
His criminal history reportedly includes a conviction for felony hit-and-run and arrests for making a threat to bomb or burn, assault and battery on a family member, and violating a protective order.
Reyes-Funez will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
Other Virginia-based arrests were made in Richmond, Manassas, and Alexandria.
