HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Harrisonburg Public Utilities says they will be adjusting billing dates for some customers beginning in June.
The change will affect any customers with billing dates traditionally on the 9th of each month. Water and sewer bills will now be due on the 22nd.
Officials note text message, automated phone call and email notices have started going out to customers today.
If the date falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will be extended to the next business day.
Officials say the change will move all customers to the same billing date and will help streamline billing and the water meter reading process, as well as improve efficiency.
