HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Economic Development is ringing in the new year with a new program for entrepreneurs — the Harrisonburg Entrepreneur Development Initiative (HEDI).

The HEDI seeks to develop early-stage business owners. They have partnered with business consultant eqALL Business Solutions to offer subject matter expert guidance and a mini-grant to businesses accepted into the program. 30 businesses will be accepted into HEDI.
To be eligible, the business:
1. Must be a for-profit business entity with a place of business located in the City of Harrisonburg (home based businesses are eligible)
2. Must have a city business license
3. Must have at least $5,000, but no more than $100,000 in annual gross revenues
4. Must be able to provide proof of revenue through a 2023 federal tax return or 2024 year to date income statements
5. Is locally owned, or locally operated with headquarters in Virginia
6. Is current on all taxes and fees to the City of Harrisonburg
Applications are due by 5pm on January 31.
