On Friday February 2nd, George Wyatt Harris III passed away peacefully at his home in Broadway, VA.
George was born in Baltimore, MD in 1965 to the late Delores S. Harris. He started his career as a repo man before turning to locksmith and eventually a mechanic. As everyone knows, George wasn’t defined by his jobs because he was a man of any and all talents. He recently had started woodworking where he made many wonderful projects.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce who he met as a teenager in Baltimore. They recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on January 24th. During their marriage, they had many adventures. Together they had 2 children but welcomed many others into their lives to take care of.
Great father to his son, Matthew Harris of Broadway, VA and his partner Whitney. His daughter Stephanie Frye of Broadway and her husband James. But most importantly, George was the best Pop-Pop to his two grandsons, Jackson James-Wyatt (Apple Scrapple) and Benjamin Allen-Cole (Doodle Bug). From fishing, to playing at the park and even building in Minecraft, he would do anything he could with and for his boys. They were his pride and joy. Living just next door, he was their best friend and a spectacular presence in their every day lives.
Also surviving are his brothers David and Stephen, cousin and best friend Danny, numerous cousins, friends and best daily fur companion Jack-Benny.
