HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) congratulated Detective J.C. Aderholz on his retirement after serving for approximately 30 years.

Detective Aderholz began his public safety career in 1994 as a dispatcher for the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office. Then in 1996, he was hired as a dispatcher for HPD. Later that same year, Aderholz was hired as a Police Officer Recruit.

When Officer Aderholz was released from training, he started on B squad in June of 1997. Officer Aderholz progressed on patrol, serving the community along with the department as an Officer on patrol and also as a patrol supervisor. In the late 2000’s, Aderholz began his role in the gang unit and as a member of the Marshal taskforce.

Officials are thankful for Detective Aderholz’ service to the community and will mis him deeply.
