BRIDGEWATER, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Bridgewater Town Council voted last night to remove the area’s five existing Flock Safety cameras.

In the unanimous decision, the council determined to immediately terminate the existing contract with the AI-powered surveillance company and prohibited the reinstallation of any Automated License Plate Reader technology without first engaging in a transparent process designed to foster public awareness and trust.

The town’s Flock cameras were installed three years ago, at the request of Bridgewater’s recently retired Police Chief Phillip Read.
