HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Adagio House announced immediate openings for full-scope speech therapy services, catering to clients of all ages—with a primary focus on toddlers through young adults.
Led by Speech-Language Pathologist Caitlin McCaslin, M.S., CF-SLP, Adagio House reportedly offers individualized, 1-on-1 evaluations and treatments tailored to each client’s unique needs, preferences, and values. Services cover a wide spectrum of communication and physical development needs, including:
- Speech & Language: Speech sound production, motor skill difficulties (utilizing approaches like DTTC and PROMPT), and child-led, play-based language therapy.
- Neurodiversity-Affirming Care: Specialized support for communication challenges related to autism, ADHD, and developmental disabilities—emphasizing self-advocacy, confidence, and functional language (including support for clients using echolalia/gestalt language).
- Autism & Specialized Evaluations: Comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech/language, identify needs for further referrals, or inform formal autism diagnosis.
- Fluency, Voice & Social Communication: Building self-advocacy in stuttering/cluttering, pitch/volume management, and social interaction.
- Pediatric Feeding & Swallowing: Responsive feeding therapy focused on mealtime safety, nutritional variety, autonomy, and reducing caregiver stress.
- Additional Clinical Care: Services for communication challenges related to hearing loss, stroke, brain injury, or dementia.
“Speech therapy’s purpose is to help individuals with communication challenges connect with others, express their thoughts and desires, and feel comfortable advocating for themselves. Speech therapy also includes treatment for feeding and swallowing difficulties,” says McCaslin, a James Madison University M.S. graduate who brings specialized expertise in neurodiversity-affirming care, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and evidence-based motor learning approaches.
How to Schedule – Immediate openings are available for both comprehensive evaluations (typically 90 minutes) and ongoing treatment sessions (30 minutes).
