AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — UPDATE (5/19/26 2:20 PM): The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for Seth Anthony Osgood in the Todd Lake area of the George Washington National Forest. Osgood’s camper and vehicle have been located, and he is believed to still be in the area and possibly traveling on a bicycle.

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management Search and Rescue Teams, Augusta County Fire and Rescue, and the Mt. Solon Fire Department, are actively conducting search operations in this area.

At this time, there is no threat to the citizens of Augusta County. However, residents and visitors should expect a large law enforcement and emergency services presence in the Todd Lake area while this search is underway.

ORIGINAL STORY (5/13/26 8:56 PM): The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man last seen in March.

Augusta County Sheriff Donald Smith says 48-year-old Seth Anthony Osgood was last seen on March 6.

He is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5’10” in height and weighs 180 pounds.

Osgood drives a black car unknown make, model, or tag. He is known to stay/camp in the National Forest.
