AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after noon to reports of gunshots heard in the area of the Woodrow Wilson School Complex in Fishersville.
Lieutenant Leslie Snyder stated that out of an abundance of caution, all schools in the complex were placed on secure, meaning students and staff were safe inside the buildings.
Normal operating dismissal procedures were still in place at one o’clock on this final day of school.
Meanwhile, all schools on the Strasburg campus were also placed on lockdown mode after received a call from a blocked phone number, and a male voice stating that he was outside of a school and was going to enter the school.
After an investigation, there was no suspect located on campus and the lockdown was eventually lifted.
