Last month was another big one for Virginia’s casinos, as they generated over 6-point-3 million dollars in tax revenue for the state.
The latest figures from the Virginia Lottery show that Hard Rock Bristol and Rivers Casino Portsmouth pulled in over 35 million dollars in adjusted gaming revenue in April.
Nearly 51-thousand dollars went toward the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support fund. Just shy of 13-thousand was directed toward the Family and Children’s Trust Fund.
After a six-percent return to both host cities, the report shows nearly 4-point-2 million was left for the general tax fund.
Meanwhile, Caesars opened the doors to a temporary casino in Danville yesterday while a permanent facility is under construction.
