Four Valley natives are among the newest class of Virginia State Police troopers.
Spokesperson Corrine Geller said in a release that 31 officers received their diplomas during commencement exercises at the State Police Training Academy on Friday.
Included in that group are James Llyod Lakey the Second, Justin M. Lowe, Logan Edward Shenk, and Parker Elliot Shenk. Lakey and Lowe hail from Strasburg and Shenandoah, while the Shenks are both from Staunton.
Geller said that Lakey was assigned to Frederick County, while Lowe will patrol Augusta County. Logan and Parker Shenk were both assigned to the Roanoke area.
The new troopers will now spend six weeks paired with a Field Training Officer.
