Parts of Route 689 east of Stanley in Page County will be closed to through traffic for about six weeks beginning Monday morning.

The Virginia Department of Transportation said that the highway will be shuttered between the two intersections with Ida Hollow Road as crews replace the bridge over East Hawksbill Creek.

Drivers approaching from either side will use Route 611 and 629 to detour around the closure.

V-DOT said work is expected to wrap up by July 20th.
