LAKE SAINT CLAIR VA:  (WSVA) – Frederick County authorities say that a man was rescued yesterday after he fell through the ice while walking on a frozen lake.
In a release, Sheriff’s lieutenant Warren Gosnell said that they received a 9-1-1 call just after noon claiming that someone had broken through the ice at Lake St. Clair.
Deputies and emergency services arrived to find the victim chest-deep in frigid water, where he had been stranded for roughly half-an-hour.
According to Gosnell, a deputy found a nearby kayak, using it to slide across the ice and pull the victim into the boat and back to safety.
He was taken to Winchester Medical Center for surveillance, but Gosnell said that the man suffered no injuries during the ordeal.
