The Friendly City’s finest are searching for a Second in Command, and they’re opening the floor for local applicants.
The Harrisonburg Police Department announced on Friday that an application period for Deputy Chief of Police is now open through July 10th.
The department says applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police administration, or a related field and at least six years of experience in a supervising position within law enforcement.
Applicants must also have or be able to obtain the Virginia Peace Officer’s Standards & Training certification within six months of the hire date.
