Health Connect America is paying up to resolve allegations that it billed Virginia Medicaid for services that it did not provide.
The Tennessee-based group will pay over four and a half million dollars in the resolution and will have increased oversight with audit requirements and reporting practices for the next five years.
U-S Attorney Chris Kavanaugh stated in a news release that providers like H-C-A must be held accountable.
H-C-A, which has locations in Big Stone Gap and Culpeper, was alleged to have improperly billed Medicaid Virginia for services provided by improperly trained individuals, to students who were absent during school closures and for services from an employee who was having a sexual relationship with a juvenile patient.
