Fifth District Congressman Bob Good isn’t buying into the narrative that Republicans’ opposition to abortion rights cost them election wins in three key states last week.
During an event yesterday with the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, Good weaponized the term “moderation” against colleagues who are lukewarm on abortion, saying that moderation simply means “lack of inspiration.”
He ultimately invoked slavery abolitionists from the 18th and 19th centuries in defense of modern-day conservatives who oppose easy access to abortion.
He added that Congress “can and should” regulate abortion, including by restricting mail-order pregnancy-ending pills through the Postal Service.
