Mount Jackson police say that an investigation is underway after four people were shot over the weekend, two of them fatally.

According to a release from the department, officers responded just before 3 A-M Sunday to the 200 block of Orkney Drive for a report of shots fired. They said they arrived to find four individuals with gunshot wounds.

According to police, a 63-year-old man and 51-year-old woman were dead at the scene. Their bodies were taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Manassas. A 67-year-old woman and 48-year-old man were hospitalized in critical condition.

Police say they believe one of the individuals’ gunshot wounds was self-inflicted. It’s unclear if that person was one of the two survivors.
