Eastern Mennonite University says that it has been given nearly one-and-a-quarter million dollars to promote what it calls “secure parenting” in the area.

In a release, the school said it received the funding through Lily Endowment Incorporated’s Christian Parenting and Caregiving Initiative. The money will go toward establishing a program that supports and encourages faith-based parenting.

School officials say that groups of 15-20 caregivers will meet with trained facilitators to talk about their experiences with raising children in a religious environment.
