Dry weather this fall is having an impact on the Piedmont Region as well as the Shenandoah Valley. That’s according to the National Drought Mitigation Center which has now added portions of Albemarle, Nelson, and Amherst counties to the list of Virginia counties suffering severe drought. Ninety-seven percent of Augusta County and 100 percent of Page County are also suffering from severe drought conditions.
Officials encourage conserving fresh water, as the water table continues to decline.
