CROZET VA: (WSVA) – After a long, arduous judging session, one wine made exclusively in Crozet has been named the best in the commonwealth.
During a ceremony yesterday, Governor Glenn Youngkin awarded this year’s Virginia Gold Cup to King Family Vineyards for its 2019 Meritage blend.
Winemakers there say that it’s a combination of four separate high-quality wines into one.
While King Family claimed the Gold Cup, the 11 other highest-ranking submissions will be displayed in Richmond for the next year.
This includes wine from Rockingham County’s Bluestone and Cross Keys vineyards, which placed fourth and seventh in the state.
