The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office has a message for drivers this summer: Buckle up before you see blue lights.

In a social media post, Shenandoah County authorities said they are participating in the national Click It or Ticket campaign.

The two-week enhanced enforcement period starts today and runs through June 4th.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says drivers wore seatbelts 92 percent of the time last year. The year prior, NITSA says 59 percent of young adults killed in crashes were unbuckled.
