Virginia’s casinos and gambling houses generated nearly 10 million dollars in taxes last month.

A Virginia Lottery revenue report for July shows that the state’s three licensed casinos hauled in over 53 million dollars in adjusted revenue.

After a six-percent tax was deducted for Bristol, Portsmouth and Danville, where the casinos are located, just under seven million dollars were left for Virginia’s general fund.

82-and-a-half thousand dollars were set aside for the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund. Over 20-and-a-half thousand went toward the Family and Children’s Trust Fund.
