ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Peter Fulton and Adalia Coleman of the Bridgewater College track and field team kicked off day one of NCAA Outdoor National Championship competition at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex on Thursday.

Fulton, the senior thrower hailing from Bridgewater, Virginia, kicked the day off for the Eagles in the discus throw. He secured a ninth-place finish recording a mark of 49.39m (162′ 0″) on the day. Steven Hermsen of Carroll University (Wis.) took home the gold recording a facility record mark of 56.84m (186′ 5″).

Fulton’s quest for a national title will continue with the hammer throw on Saturday beginning at 1 P.M.

Coleman got her championship weekend started off with the 200m prelims where she qualified for the finals, finishing in third in her heat with a time of 24.37 seconds. The 200m finals will be held Saturday at 3:50 P.M.

Coleman and Kyle Clanton will be in action tomorrow for the Eagles. Clanton will compete in the men’s 100m prelims beginning at 6 P.M. followed by Coleman who will compete in the women’s 100m prelims beginning at 6:15 P.M.
