HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A statewide seat belt safety campaign is coming back to Virginia just in time for the summer driving season.
The campaign, known as ‘Click It Or Ticket,’ will be in effect from May 13 through June 2 on roadways across the commonwealth.
The Virginia Smart, Safe, and Sober Partnership – a combination of law enforcement and road safety agencies – says the initiative will include warning messages from police chiefs and sheriffs, along with an increase in seat belt enforcement.
National traffic data shows that in 2022, only 76 percent of Virginia drivers buckled up consistently – the lowest rate of any state.
