Question:  For years we’ve been listening to the “Top 40” to find out what the most popular songs are in the country.  When it started, why did they choose “40” as the number of songs to countdown?

Answer:  The reason there’s a top 40 for songs is because jukeboxes in the ’50s used to hold exactly 40 songs.
