HARRISONBURG, VA. (Rocktown Now) — A Harrisonburg native college student is giving back to the community through her own foundation.
Madison Rogers, founder of G.I.V.E. which stands for Grow, Inspire, Volunteer, and Educate, and also International United Miss, has dedicated herself to educating individuals about the importance of volunteering and providing them with the resources they need to get involved, while also getting a degree.
With a particular focus on children and teens, Rogers believes that starting early fosters not only a sense of responsibility but also opens doors to opportunities and connections for the future.
In a release, the Mary Baldwin University student said her goal is to empower individuals to become active participants in building stronger, more compassionate communities. She is studying Elementary Education with plans for a Master’s degree in English as a Second Language, Madison hopes to inspire future generations as an English as a Second Language teacher at the elementary level.
