The Friendly City’s wheelchair hoops team is playing for a national title.

Thursday, Valley Associates for Independent Living announced that the Harrisonburg Cardinals Wheelchair Basketball Team has received an invite to play in the NWBA National Championship Tournament in Richmond next weekend.

The squad will compete in the three-day tournament at the Henrico Sports and Event Center, starting with a first-round contest against the Arkansas Rolling Razorbacks Friday April 12.

VAIL says it is accepting donations to help the team with equipment and future tournament fees. A link to donate can be found at GreatCommunityGive.org.
