HARRISONBURG, Va – Virginia U-S Senator Mark Warner was in Harrisonburg this morning meeting with city leaders about the nearly 14 and a half million-dollar RAISE grant the Friendly City received for the Liberty Street re-imagining project.

Speaking at the Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County on South Main Street, Warner says Harrisonburg does better with federal grant money per capital than any other city in the commonwealth.

After the meeting, Warner embarked on a walking tour of downtown Harrisonburg, where he visited a number of small businesses to get a firsthand look at the area that will benefit from the federal funding made possible through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Warner also said that while his daughter graduated from Duke University, he pulled for the J-M-U Dukes Sunday in the NCAA Tournament. A game in which Duke won 93-55 to advance to the Sweet 16.
