Lisa Gaye Dovel, 64, a resident of Harrisonburg, went to be with the Lord on March 5 2024 at Blue Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing where she had been a resident and enjoyed watching the birds and working puzzles there.
Lisa was born on February 5, 1960 and was a daughter of Phyllis Geneva Lam Dovel of Harrisonburg, the late Homer “Leo” Dovel. She was an LPN and worked in many long-term care facilities throughout the valley during her career. She felt if was an honor to take care of peoples loved ones and looked at being a nurse as an act of service.
She was an avid animal lover and held a deep appreciation for God’s creations.
Even though she was not affiliated with a specific church, she was blessed to call Pastor Charles Donovon of Full-Gospel Pentecostal Church in Martinsburg, West Virginia her pastor. She loved the Lord and would often share her faith throughout her life.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Emily Stroop and husband Christopher; two granddaughters, Sophia Ann Stroop and Olivia Grace Stroop; sister, Pamela Monger; niece, Lindsey Monger; great nephew, Jaxon Strother; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
