ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va – A shooting incident Monday morning in Rockingham County left one man in the hospital and another man in jail.

Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson reports that deputies responded to a call at around 10:30 about a gunshot wound on Peake Mountain Road in the Clover Hill area.

When deputies arrived, they determined it was a domestic dispute at the residence, which escalated and one male suspect shot another male victim at that location.

Hutcheson said the victim, 58-year-old Charles Linwood Corbin the Second of Broadway, was taken to U-V-A for treatment on non life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, the suspect, 60-year-old Alfred Dale Eppard of Harrisonburg was charged with attempted murder and aggravated malicious wounding.

He is currently being held without bond at Rockingham-Harrisonburg Regional Jail.
