Alma Virginia Fulk Conley, 92, a resident of Fulks Run, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at her home.

Alma was born at home in Fulks Run on May 6, 1931 to the late Howard Clory and Lillie Wetsel Fulk. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her children and all of her grandchildren. She retired from Ethan Allen Furniture in Bridgewater and after her retirement worked as a homemaker. Her favorite pastimes were making her famous egg custard pie, going to the beach with her family, working with word finds, and drinking Dr. Pepper (Which she called “Pepper Upper”.) When she was able, she loved visiting her friends in the Gap. She was a member of Gospel Hill Mennonite Church and later attended Freedom Fellowship Church in Broadway.

Alma was married to the love of her life Ralph Eugene Conley for 54 years. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2001.

Surviving are her children, Wilma Lee Wilkins; Verlin Conley, Julia Edith (Preston) Webster; grandchildren, Frank Wilkins (Angie), Rhonda Morris (“Nuck”), Wes Wilkins (Kara), Brian Webster, Bridget Bautista (Carlos), Charles Webster (Charity), Brittany Puckett (Mike), Ashley Hose (Lake), Amy Sager (Luke), Melinda Mullenax (Chris), Jeffrey Conely; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Whitmer, Hope Ritchie, Joy Simmers (Harold), Jane Conley (E.B. “Sonny”); brother, Boyd Fulk. She enjoyed weekly visits from her longtime friend, Martha Morris.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alma was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Clory Conley; son-in-law, Howard Wilkins; sisters, Naomi Custer, Marjorie Carr; and brothers, Matthew Fulk, Biedler Fulk, and Howard C. “Junior” Fulk.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the family members and friends that helped care for Alma in her last days. Also, a special thank you Continuing Care, and Sentara Hospice for their guidance and support and her last days.
