A Stanley couple is facing four and a half years in prison after being convicted of construction fraud.
According to online records, Allen Wayne Knott and Sabrina Gail Knott received that sentence during a hearing this afternoon in Page County Circuit Court.
The two were convicted by a jury back in November on nearly 100 counts, including obtaining money by false pretense.
Sheriff Chad Cubbage had reported that the charges followed an investigation into multiple complaints that the pair had been given down payments to install roofing, but months later, the work had still not started and the Knotts had ended communication with their clients.
The Knotts were also sentenced to five years of supervised probation on their release.
