Thelma Ann Bell, 86, of McGaheysville, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Born May 5, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Theodore “Joe” and Beulah Ashenfelter Dean.

 

Thelma was raised in McGaheysville and graduated with the first class of Montevideo High School. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and family. Thelma dedicated her life to her Lord and Savior and was a dedicated member of Elkton Pentecostal Church.

 

She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 57 years, James Theron “Jimmie” Bell on January 8, 2016.

 

Surviving are a son, James Arthur Bell and wife, Terry of McGaheysville; grandson, James Aaron Bell and companion, Jessica Thompson of Shenandoah; step granddaughters, Kim and Shannon Myers and great-grandson, Connar Bell. Also surviving are her brother, Garland Dean and wife, Faye of McGaheysville.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Lee Dean and Walter Dean and four sisters, Mary Sipes, Margaret Hawse, Helen Weese and Frances Allen.
