HARRISONBURG VA: (WSVA) – Rockingham County Public Schools has approved a wide-reaching redistricting plan to offset overcrowding, effective at the start of next school year. During last night’s school board meeting, members voted unanimously to move many county students to different schools. However, any rising 5th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders will have the option to stay at their current schools – if their family provides transportation. The school division will send letters to families impacted by the redistribution. Superintendent Dr. Larry Shifflett said that principals are already making plans to welcome their new students.
