EDINBURG, Va – It is five years in jail for the Woodstock man charged in connection with an attempted shooting last year.

Edgar Uriel Padron-Rodriguez reached a plea deal with prosecutors during a hearing this week in Shenandoah County Circuit Court.

Rodriguez pleaded guilty to five of the nine charges he faced, including reckless handling of a firearm.

A judge then sentenced him to 36 years in jail with 31 of those years suspended.

Rodriguez fired a shot towards the victim during an incident on August 13th of last year in the 500 block of Hamburg Road in the Edinburg area.

Fortunately, the shot missed and no injuries were reported.
