HARRISONBURG, Va. — Harrisonburg Police has now lifted the shelter in place for residents near South Main Street as a search continues for multiple suspects in a breaking and entering case who police say could be armed.
As of 9 a.m., city officials said that officers remain on scene near South Main Street and Central, South and Maryland avenues.
The search began shortly after 6:30, when some residents and workers in the area were asked to shelter inside their homes and businesses until the manhunt is over.
Police ask anyone who sees anything suspicious to call 9-1-1, but they emphasize that no one should approach the suspects – who, again, may be armed and dangerous.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
