HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Eunoia Theatre will present The Burial at Thebes on Friday, November 6 through Sunday, November 8 at the Lee Eshleman Studio Theatre at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg.

Poet Seamus Heaney’s adaptation of Sophocles Antigone offers a fresh perspective on the tragedy’s classic themes of state power, conscience, and the dignity of the dead. Through beautifully spare and haunting Irish verse, the unstoppable collision of family loyalty and civic law are brought into an emotionally charged focus, from initial defiance to devastating aftermath.
