HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — ACT ONE Theater Company, Inc. presents The Trojan Women, running September 17 through September 20 at Court Square Theater, located at 41-E Court Square in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Performances are scheduled for Thursday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, September 19 at 3:00 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, September 20 at 3:00 p.m.
Set in the aftermath of the fall of Troy, The Trojan Women centers on women left behind by war and forced to confront an uncertain future. In this contemporary adaptation, their voices become a force of resistance as they reckon with loss, power, captivity, and survival.
Robert Wilson plays the God Poseidon, while Viola Sher portrays Athena. Kacey Damaty takes on the role of Hecuba, and Mare Kile plays the Chorus. Elizabeth Loker Perkins portrays Talthybius, with Jackie Hensley as Cassandra/Helen of Troy. The cast also includes Sam McGaffigan as Andromache and Philip Bly as Menelaus.
The production is directed by Shannon Wilson and is based on the classic tragedy by Euripides, adapted by Caroline Bird.
Advance tickets are $20, with tickets at the door priced at $30. Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. This production contains adult themes and content, recommended for 18+.
