HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – A cold front moving through the Shenandoah Valley early this week will sweep out the humid, unsettled air and allow high pressure to build in behind it. That will bring drier air, lower humidity, and the week’s most pleasant weather on Tuesday and much of Wednesday.
By late Wednesday and Thursday, the high pressure system shifts away and another cold front approaches from the west. As warmer, more humid air returns, scattered showers and thunderstorms will become more likely Thursday and Friday. The front is expected to stall south of the Valley, potentially keeping shower and thunderstorm chances around into next weekend while allowing temperatures to trend slightly cooler.
