HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – Showers and thunderstorms will move into the Shenandoah Valley early this morning as storms arriving from the Ohio Valley meet a warm front lifting northward. Expect periods of rain, embedded thunder, and limited morning heating. As the moist, unstable air deepens, additional storms may redevelop in the afternoon or evening, with a second round likely arriving from the west.

According to the National Weather Service, multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected. Scattered instances of flash flooding are possible, especially if heavier rain falls over urban and poor drainage areas. Scattered damaging wind gusts or a few tornadoes are possible, as well.

The Valley sits in the zone most favorable for stronger storms, with risks including damaging winds, very heavy rainfall, and isolated flash flooding. Conditions finally improve late Sunday night. Monday brings a few lingering storms, but Tuesday and Wednesday turn seasonable and quieter before another front increases rain chances late week.
