BRIDGEWATER, VA (Rocktown Now) — Bridgewater’s Town Council appointed an Interim Councilmember to fill Dr. Bill Miracle’s recently vacated seat at Monday’s meeting.

William “Bill” Kyger Junior was officially sworn in at the Council’s regular meeting Tuesday night.

Kyger, a former Turner Ashby High School teacher, previously served on the Town Council from 1984 to 1987 and represented Bridgewater and the residents of District 4 for 36 years on the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors.

Kyger will continue to serve on the Council until Dr. Miracle’s permanent replacement is determined by a special election held in November.
